Always Do Your Best (Yoga and The Four Agreements)

In The Four Agreements, Don Miguel Ruiz says by always doing our best we can avoid negative self-talk. We can feel good about everything we do. Of course sometimes we will be tired, or sad or angry. We may make mistakes because we are human but if we know we are always doing our best in that moment we can silence the judge in our heads that is ready to criticize us for supposed transgressions. He says in order to be doing our best we have to be focusing on the task at hand and not the reward. In this way we can always be satisfied with our own part in things and find real happiness.
